A Gift for the Holidays: Farewell, EC2-Other

Vantage has announced the removal of the "EC2-Other" cost category for AWS customers, which was often a confusing catch-all line-item encompassing various unrelated resources like EBS Volumes, NAT Gateways, and data transfer costs. This change aims to improve cost transparency and forecasting by introducing more specific and understandable cost categories such as Elastic Block Storage, NAT Gateways, and IP Addresses, with T-instance CPU Credits now included under existing EC2 Instances. This update is available to Vantage customers who have enabled Per-Resource Costs, a feature that offers deeper cost analytics than AWS Cost Explorer and provides a resource-centric view of AWS costs. By processing Cost and Usage Report files, Vantage automatically replaces EC2-Other with these new categories at no additional cost, enhancing the clarity of AWS billing and allowing for better cost management and planning.
