With the recent announcement of Twilio's API for WhatsApp, customers can now integrate WhatsApp into their contact centers using Twilio Flex, a cloud-based platform that allows developers to build custom messaging flows with just a few minutes of setup. To get started, users need a Twilio account and a project with Twilio Flex, as well as the WhatsApp Sandbox Channel. The process involves constructing a Message Handler URL, setting up the WhatsApp sandbox, gathering account details, linking the WhatsApp to a Studio Flow, and finally, starting a command shell session to create a new WhatsApp flow using Twilio's API. Once set up, users can handle their messages with more than just Studio, and start chatting with customers through an entirely different channel.
