In this article, TapeOnline.com's founder Jimmy Baker discusses his experience with Twilio, a cloud communication platform that enabled the company to create an interactive phone-in order manager for its customers. The application allows customers to check the status of their orders, place new orders, and interact with customer service representatives over the phone. With Twilio's API, Baker was able to easily integrate the feature into his Ruby on Rails-based application, which also leverages Shopify's active_shipping plugin for tracking information. The entire project took only 3 hours to build, thanks to Twilio's user-friendly documentation and API. Baker plans to add features such as product information and a "repeat last order" functionality in the future.
