SingleStoreDB Self-Managed 7.0 introduces fast synchronous replication, which guarantees transactional durability without performance penalties, and incremental backups for reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and improved recovery point objectives (RPO). The new feature also enables Universal Storage, allowing users to mix row-oriented tables with column-oriented tables, reducing trade-offs between fine-grain aggregation and big data aggregation. Additionally, SingleStore Studio provides a visual interface for logical and physical monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management, making it easier to deploy and manage SingleStore clusters. The software is the same for both self-managed and elastic managed services in the cloud, with some differences in features and capabilities. High availability (HA) is always turned on in singlestore Helios, while SingleStoreDB Self-Managed 7.0 will be available on Singlestore Helios first, with EU regions available soon and Azure availability planned for the first half of 2020.
