Introducing continuous deployment

Semaphore has introduced a new deployment feature that enhances development velocity by automating the deployment of verified code to application servers, thereby simplifying the process and removing the need for manual SSH configuration. The deployment feature, which prioritizes deployment jobs and does not count against processor limits, can be set up for automatic or manual deployment, with automatic deployment linked to specific branches and manual deployment allowing for more flexibility. Users can utilize platforms like Heroku or custom scripts such as Capistrano, with passwordless SSH RSA keys required for secure access. Semaphore provides comprehensive notifications via email and chat, deploy history tracking, and API and webhook support, though there are plans to improve the API. This feature aims to streamline the deployment process, making it less repetitive and more transparent, while maintaining a detailed record of deployment activities.
