Easier Secrets Management Through the Semaphore UI
Blog post from Semaphore
Semaphore has introduced a user interface (UI) feature for managing secrets, which are collections containing sensitive data like passwords, tokens, or keys, in the form of environment variables and configuration files. This enhancement aims to simplify the previously manual and error-prone process of sharing these elements across multiple projects by allowing them to be created and managed through the UI rather than solely through the Semaphore CLI. The new feature not only facilitates easier sharing and faster editing of environment variables and configuration files but also offers better control over how data is used, by enabling permissions settings for teams and attaching secrets directly to projects. This development aligns with Semaphore's mission to streamline continuous integration and enhance productivity by making secret management more efficient for organizations, particularly those with numerous projects.
