Boost editor workflows with our new Initial Values
Blog post from Sanity
Sanity Studio's latest version introduces the ability to set initial values for all document types, streamlining repetitive tasks and saving time for editors. This feature allows users to predefine values, such as setting the current time as the publish date for new blog posts or specifying categories for new projects, enhancing workflow efficiency. To implement initial values, users need to upgrade their Sanity Studio and configure schemas with simple keys or JavaScript functions. Additionally, promises can be used to fetch initial values from other documents or external APIs, enabling complex workflows. The Initial Value Templates Builder further extends functionality by allowing editors to select predefined configurations, such as roles within a company, from the "New document" menu. The feature encourages user creativity and feedback, with documentation available for exploring advanced applications.
