Shared steps
Blog post from Qase
Qase.io has introduced two key features aimed at enhancing the efficiency of QA engineers before implementing test plans and test runs: shared steps for test cases and a markdown editor. Shared steps allow users to add common steps to a test suite, which are then inherited by all test cases in that suite, streamlining the testing process by marking shared steps as passed if they succeed in one test case. This feature not only saves time but also reduces the duration of test runs. Additionally, the platform now includes a markdown editor, addressing a popular request to simplify the description of scenarios, with support for markdown syntax except headings. Other updates include the addition of three test case types—positive, negative, and destructive—to cater to different testing scenarios, an increase in default font size and a more neutral button color, a feature for creating test cases with fewer steps, flash notifications for user actions, and a redesign of the test case preview page to enhance readability and usability.
