The welcome email of the time tracking tool Freckle was redesigned by Plushcap in collaboration with Amy Hoy and Thomas Fuchs from Slash7, aiming to make it more engaging and consistent with the rest of the product. The original email was plain text and lacked a clear call-to-action, but the copy was great and consistent with the application's style and voice. The redesign isolated the call to action, summarized the app, added nice visualization, up-sold some features, and wrapped it in bright colors consistent with the brand. As of this post, Freckle no longer offers a free plan and the redesigned email will be removed for learning purposes.
