The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has leveraged the Jamstack model to support its digital work, including building a new site, "Let People Vote", for the 2020 presidential election. This approach enabled the ACLU to build its site within a few weeks and achieve significant performance improvements, allowing it to respond faster and set up new campaigns more quickly. The Jamstack's modular architecture allowed the ACLU to decouple its front and back ends, develop small reusable services, and make quick, targeted updates, increasing development speed and providing continual easy deployment. By adopting this approach, the ACLU was able to improve its online presence, expand its digital organizing capabilities, and enhance its ability to respond rapidly to changing circumstances, ultimately helping to protect and extend democracy in the United States.
