Blog post from Neo4j
The Neo4j 1.5 M02 release brings significant changes to its data store format, requiring careful planning and disk space for upgrading from previous versions. The new store layout reduces on-disk footprint by up to 30% and improves performance through fewer IO operations. Cypher query language has been enhanced with new features such as optional relationships, new predicates for iterables, path functions, and aggregate functions like COLLECT. High Availability (HA) clusters have improved performance and robustness, especially in cloud deployments. The Webadmin dashboard has received a significant upgrade with new visualization tooling, including rule-based visualization style and icons. The community team has championed new features based on feedback from the open source community, including changes to the REST index API.
