PeerIslands has developed a tool called Cosmos DB Migrator Tool that helps customers migrate data from Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB to MongoDB Atlas on Google Cloud. This tool addresses the limitations of the current approach, which is manual and CLI-based, lacking change capture capability and causing downtime during migrations. The new tool provides a GUI-based interface for automating infrastructure provisioning, dump and restore, change stream listeners and processors, with native performance similar to native tools. It also offers features such as migration validation, allowing users to view the total number of documents and compare data elements on both sides. This solution enables customers to rapidly address common questions about MongoDB and reduce time to value by migrating workloads to MongoDB Atlas.
