Metabase is implementing new translation policies to ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience by requiring all new and existing translations to reach 100% completion before being included in major or minor releases. The changes, which aim to address inconsistencies where incomplete translations led to mixed-language user interfaces, will not affect the upcoming version 0.34 but will take effect starting with version 0.35. This decision comes in response to feedback from the open-source community, which has been instrumental in translating Metabase into over 18 languages with more than 500 contributors. The Metabase team is committed to providing clear guidelines for language inclusion and ensuring that users have a seamless experience, with translators given a 10-day notice to complete translations before each major release.
