Lokalise conducted a survey with 1,001 full-time employees in technical roles across the U.S. and Europe to investigate the impact of inefficient workflows on personal time and the potential benefits of AI-powered tools. The study revealed that many employees, particularly Gen Z, frequently sacrifice personal and family time, with an average loss of nearly 20 days a year due to work demands. Stress at work often spills into home life, affecting relationships and leading to missed significant events. However, the use of AI tools is showing promise in improving work-life balance, with those using AI extensively gaining back nearly 10 hours a week, including significant personal time. The research highlighted that automation can reduce repetitive tasks and enhance decision-making, allowing employees to reclaim meaningful time and focus more on personal well-being. The findings emphasize a growing opportunity for AI to transform modern work culture by enabling more efficient workflows and supporting employee wellness, reinforcing the belief that technology should simplify life and promote a healthier work environment.
