This version introduces significant improvements, such as multi-zone deployment with locality-aware load balancing, support for explicit external services, the Kafka protocol, and enhanced performance and scalability for high-demand environments. It also includes new security measures for data plane proxies and integration capabilities with third-party PKIs like Hashicorp Vault for zero-trust security. The update features a more scalable browser GUI and over 30 new Grafana charts to monitor control plane behavior.
