This decision was made to streamline communication and engagement across the community, as Discord offers a more cohesive platform for real-time interaction compared to the previously fragmented Slack groups. While the new server will serve as the main chat platform, the Ionic Discourse Forum will remain the preferred venue for addressing complex technical issues and frequently asked questions, ensuring accessibility through search capabilities. The migration process began on December 1, 2021, with Slack channels being gradually archived and members encouraged to join the Discord server, with full transition expected by January 1, 2022. The move aims to enhance community interaction while maintaining support through other social channels like Reddit and Twitter.
