Honeycomb goes Serverless: Send your app data without running agents
Blog post from Honeycomb
Serverless applications are gaining popularity due to tools like AWS API Gateway and Lambda, along with frameworks that ease their development and deployment, but they still require observability solutions. Honeycomb has introduced Agentless Integrations for AWS that allow developers to monitor their applications without running additional agents or servers by hooking directly into the AWS event pipeline. These integrations can be set up using Cloudformation Quick-Create links, streamlining the process of sending event data from sources like Cloudwatch Logs, S3, or SNS to Honeycomb. For example, a simple TODO API using Cloudwatch Logs can be integrated with Honeycomb to provide structured, JSON-rendered logging and visibility. For larger applications with more complex needs, Honeycomb offers customizable Cloudformation and Terraform templates. Honeycomb's solutions aim to enhance observability in serverless environments by providing rich, structured event data without the overhead of maintaining dedicated infrastructure.
