Nomad 1.2 introduces several new features to simplify application deployment and lifecycle management, including System Batch jobs, which allow for one-off, cluster-wide, short-lived tasks that can be run on any node in the cluster that is not excluded via constraints. The new feature also improves job status visualization for Batch jobs and System Batch jobs in the Nomad UI, allowing users to quickly assess the state of each job across the cluster. Additionally, Nomad Pack, a package manager for Nomad, makes it easy to define reusable application deployments, enabling users to quickly spin up popular open source applications and deploy resources together as a group. The tech preview of Nomad Pack allows users to contribute their own packs to the community registry and participate in a monthly pack contest with prizes.
