How KCB Bank Uganda monitors services with Grafana
Blog post from Grafana Labs
KCB Bank Uganda significantly enhanced its transaction service monitoring by implementing Grafana, transitioning from outdated Excel-based processes to a centralized and efficient monitoring tool. This shift allowed the bank to improve service uptime through real-time alerts and comprehensive data visualization, capturing data from various sources such as Microsoft SQL Server and JSON. As a result, the bank achieved a 96% improvement in transaction service monitoring, leading to consistent revenue collection and increased operational efficiency. Inspired by weather-related alerts, the bank designed dashboards for early warning metrics, which contributed to a more resilient and scalable banking operation. This successful implementation opened opportunities for expansion into areas like fraud detection and real-time transaction trend analysis, while also allowing IT staff more flexibility. The ongoing improvements aim to further enhance customer experience and operational convenience, as highlighted by Systems and Software Engineer Fauzi Lutaaya in a GrafanaCONline 2022 session.
