Grafana: The open and composable observability platform

Grafana Labs recently showcased an incident where their AI assistant, Assistant Investigations, identified the root cause of a system issue 3.5 times faster than their human engineers. This AI tool, now available in public preview for Grafana Cloud users, utilizes specialized agents to analyze observability data, including metrics, logs, traces, and profiles, enabling it to conduct parallel investigations and provide actionable insights with confidence scores. During the incident, an AI-generated SQL query caused database issues in production, which the AI assistant quickly flagged, allowing engineers to focus on remediation. Grafana emphasizes that while AI tools like Assistant Investigations enhance incident response times and data analysis, they are designed to support and amplify human capabilities rather than replace engineers, providing a more efficient and informed approach to managing increasingly complex systems.
