Tech Camp introduces Georgia high schoolers to technology careers

Tech Camp, an initiative spearheaded by Tamta Kapanadze with support from Google Developer Student Clubs and Google Developer Groups, was designed to introduce high school students in Georgia to careers in technology, addressing the country's relatively small tech industry. Despite the challenges of organizing a new event amid global circumstances, Kapanadze and her team successfully planned and executed the virtual event, which covered a broad range of topics including web development, game development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning over a seven-day period. Originally aiming for 30 participants, the camp attracted 500 applications, with 300 students attending speaker sessions and 50 participating in coding workshops. The event was deemed successful as it inspired many attendees to pursue tech careers, contributing to the growth of Georgia's tech industry.
