Mentoring Organization Applications Now Being Accepted for Google Summer of Code 2015!
Blog post from Google Cloud
Google is accepting applications for mentoring organizations to join the Google Summer of Code 2015, a program that partners university students worldwide with mentors from open source projects. This initiative, now in its 11th year, helps students gain real-world software development experience and earn a stipend, while organizations can attract new contributors who may continue their involvement beyond the program. Since its inception in 2005, over 8,500 students from more than 100 countries have participated with the support of over 480 mentoring organizations. Organizations interested in applying must do so by February 20, 2015, with accepted organizations announced on March 2, after which students can engage with them before submitting their applications starting March 16. Additional resources such as the Mentor Manual and FAQs are available for more information.
