Coral moves out of beta
Blog post from Google Cloud
Coral, a platform from Google Research, has transitioned from beta to a global release, enabling engineers and researchers to efficiently run TensorFlow models on edge devices. Coral is impacting various industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing by allowing fast machine learning inferencing at the edge. Notable use cases include Care.ai's patient care devices, Virgo SVS's polyp detection systems, and Olea Edge's municipal water utility solutions. Coral's Dev Board and USB Accelerator facilitate new product development and integration of local AI inferencing into existing systems. The platform offers new accelerators with PCIe interfaces and has expanded its availability in multiple global markets. The Coral website has been revamped with organized resources, success stories, and practical examples for on-device machine learning solutions. Future updates include an enhanced Mendel OS and improvements to the Edge TPU compiler and runtime.
