#BazelCon 2021 Wrap Up

BazelCon 2021, hosted by Joe Hicks, provided a platform for the Bazel community to connect and share their work on the diverse applications of Bazel, showcasing its global impact. The event featured over 24 technical sessions attended by more than 1,400 registrants, covering topics such as reproducible builds, remote execution for embedded platform testing, and migrating large-scale iOS apps to Bazel. Discussions also included implicit bias mitigation and strategies for open-source license compliance. Attendees engaged with the Bazel team through interactive sessions and were informed about the upcoming release of Bazel 5.0, which will introduce a new external dependency system called bzlmod. The event highlighted the collaborative spirit of the community and emphasized the ongoing efforts to improve Bazel's functionality across various platforms.
