App Engine 1.6.0 out of Preview release
Blog post from Google Cloud
Google's App Engine has officially graduated from its Preview status to become a fully supported product, reflecting its growth and the company's commitment to its development. Initially designed to be user-friendly, scalable, and free to start, App Engine now boasts over 100 billion monthly hits, 300,000 active apps, and 100,000 developers, illustrating its widespread adoption. With this release, Google has introduced several enhancements, including support for Python 2.7, Premier Accounts, and Backends, alongside a new pricing structure and revised terms of service featuring a three-year deprecation policy. A Service Level Agreement is also in place for paid applications using the High Replication Datastore. To assist users with the transition, Google is hosting App Engine Office Hours via Google+ and encourages users to reach out with questions. This advancement marks a significant milestone for App Engine and underscores Google's long-term investment in its platform.
