Announcing Flutter beta 1: Build beautiful native apps
Blog post from Google Cloud
Flutter, Google's mobile UI framework, has announced its first beta release, providing developers with the tools to create high-quality native interfaces for iOS and Android efficiently. Unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2018, Flutter combines the performance and platform integration benefits of native mobile development with the rapid development and multi-platform reach of portable UI toolkits. It introduces features such as stateful Hot Reload, a reactive framework, and a rich widget set, allowing for expressive and flexible designs. Since its alpha release, Flutter has enhanced accessibility, localization, platform support, and tooling, which have seen it adopted by teams both within Google and globally, resulting in production apps with millions of installs. The beta works in conjunction with a pre-release of Dart 2, simplifying UI code declaration, and boasts a thriving ecosystem with over 1000 packages and a growing community. As Flutter moves towards its 1.0 release, it focuses on stabilization and new features, releasing new betas approximately every four weeks, and invites developers to engage with its roadmap and community resources.
