An improved DevTools editing workflow
Blog post from Google Cloud
Chrome DevTools has introduced three significant features aimed at enhancing web developers' productivity: Workspaces, CSS preprocessor mapping, and Snippets. Workspaces enable developers to live-edit source files directly within DevTools with bidirectional disk persistence, eliminating the need to switch between the browser and an external editor. CSS preprocessor mapping allows for live-editing of Sass files within the DevTools, streamlining the process of styling without needing to refresh Chrome. The Snippets feature provides a way to create, save, and execute custom JavaScript snippets, offering a multi-line console with syntax highlighting and persistence for prototyping code. These updates, highlighted by software engineer Vsevolod Vlasov, are designed to improve the authoring workflow and productivity for web developers using Chrome DevTools.
