Getting started with GitLab CI/CD and Google Cloud Platform
Blog post from GitLab
Earlier this month, GitLab announced a new integration with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), simplifying the setup of CI/CD and Kubernetes deployment through a user-friendly interface. Users can add existing clusters or create new ones and effortlessly install applications like Helm Tiller, Ingress, Prometheus, and GitLab Runner. The integration with GitLab Auto DevOps automates the detection of programming languages and the configuration of continuous integration and deployment pipelines, facilitating the deployment of applications directly onto GKE. As an incentive, new Google Cloud Platform accounts receive $300 in credit, with an additional $200 offered for new and existing accounts to facilitate the GKE integration. A live demo featuring Google's William Denniss and GitLab's William Chia is scheduled for April 26 to provide a comprehensive walkthrough of the integration process.
