Gist meets GeoJSON
Blog post from GitHub
In an effort to enhance data sharing capabilities, GitHub has introduced a feature allowing users to view geographic data in GeoJSON and TopoJSON formats within repositories, which benefits open data sets and collaborative projects. Users can now easily share maps by dragging a GeoJSON or TopoJSON file into a new Gist and creating it, enabling seamless collaboration as Gist automatically builds the map for sharing. This feature is further supported by the ability to use services like geojson.io to compose maps and save them as GeoJSON Gists, which can be embedded across the modern internet for broader access. For additional details on sharing geographic data in Gists, users are directed to GitHub's help article.
