EdgeDB Release Candidate 3

EdgeDB has released its third release candidate (RC), with no significant changes expected before the 1.0 release. The main change is a shift from native distribution packages or Docker images to portable builds for local development usage, which can run on any non-legacy Linux or macOS system and don't require sudo access. Upgrading to RC3 involves dumping and restoring project-linked instances or destroying and creating standalone instances. The upcoming v1.0 release is expected in January 2022.
