Elasticsearch Service has announced a free upgrade for its customers on Azure, GCP, and AWS, offering 60% more disk storage for warm Elasticsearch nodes in its hot-warm deployment template at no additional cost. This upgrade enhances the capability of hot-warm deployments, which utilize both fast NVMe SSDs and cost-effective spinning disks, making them ideal for observability and security information and event management (SIEM) use cases by maintaining fast data access while storing older data efficiently. Customers can now store millions of additional data points, including log messages and metrics, without any changes to their existing deployments, as the additional storage has been automatically applied. Elasticsearch Service also offers exclusive features like index lifecycle management, snapshot management, and index rollups for efficient data handling, and continues to improve cost-effectiveness with features such as frozen indices and optimized data storage.
