Elastic has announced the beta release of its Ruby and Python API clients for Elastic Enterprise Search 7.10, enabling enhanced control over Elastic Workplace Search and Elastic App Search services. These open-source clients, available on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, utilize the same robust HTTP implementation as the Elasticsearch clients. Users can install the clients using gem for Ruby or pip for Python, and a 14-day free trial on Elastic Cloud facilitates quick deployment of Enterprise Search instances. The guide illustrates using the Ruby client to create and index documents in Elastic App Search and the Python client to create a custom content source in Elastic Workplace Search. As the new clients progress toward general availability, they are expected to replace the legacy clients, with minimal migration efforts required due to API similarities. Elastic also plans to expand support to additional languages in future releases.
