In February 2018, the Beats 6.2 update introduced several significant changes, including the renaming of Filebeat "prospectors" to "inputs" to simplify the codebase, while maintaining backward compatibility with a deprecation warning. This change, along with optimizations to Filebeat's registry performance, will be fully implemented in version 6.3. The update also highlighted improvements in Metricbeat and Packetbeat, such as fixing errors in process summaries on Linux kernels and optimizing HTTP header parsing, respectively. Additionally, a community Beat for querying SNMP data was created using the gosnmp library, and various documentation updates were made, including enhancements to the autodiscovery feature and edits to keystore documentation.
