Analyzing Elastic Workplace Search usage in a Kibana dashboard
Blog post from Elastic
Elastic Workplace Search, since version 7.9.0, has been collecting product usage data, such as user search queries and click data, to help teams analyze their search effectiveness. While a prebuilt Workplace Search analytics dashboard in Kibana is anticipated for future releases, the current guide explains how to manually set up search analytics using Kibana's saved objects feature. Users are guided through verifying their Kibana deployment, importing visualizations and dashboards via a downloadable ndjson file, and viewing various search metrics like search volume, click volume, and top queries. The dashboard provides insights into search performance, including identifying queries that return no results, which can inform improvements in content availability. The Workplace Search platform integrates with various organizational tools and offers many features under the Elastic Basic license, with future enhancements expected to provide more comprehensive analytics capabilities.
