Summary

For our Pre-Halloween October 28th Courier Live, Nate Munger returned to help me come up with a socially distanced way to handle Trick-or-Treaters using Courier. We used inspiration from the Smart Security Camera RaspberryPi project and created a Slack notification with action buttons that would allow members to present approaching Trick-or-Treaters with either a Trick or a Treat. We built this using Courier and a Glitch app, with the server-side logic handled by a Node.js/ExpressJS application. To create two side-by-side buttons, we used a Jsonnet block to build a Block Kit Actions Block. The resulting buttons can be more than just simple actions, as they can also use other Interactive Block elements. We showcased this project in our Courier Live video and are now inviting the audience to suggest future projects using Courier.
