Couchbase and Revolut were jointly awarded the Anti-fraud Solution of the Year at the FStech Awards for Revolut's fraud prevention system, Sherlock, built using Couchbase's NoSQL database. Sherlock uses machine learning to autonomously monitor transactions and swiftly assess their legitimacy, blocking suspicious ones and notifying customers for verification, all within 50 milliseconds. The system's effectiveness, praised for its ease of integration with other banks, is aided by Couchbase's speed, scalability, and maintenance capabilities, crucial for handling the dynamic data changes in fintech. As a result, Sherlock saves over $3 million annually by preventing fraud, with losses significantly lower than the industry average. Revolut aims to market Sherlock to other banks, showcasing the potential of NoSQL databases in combating financial fraud across the industry.
