The shutdown affected all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the country, including Orange, FasoNet, and Telecel. Burkina Faso is primarily mobile-first for internet access, with 77% of total internet traffic coming from mobile devices over the last 30 days. The shutdown disproportionately affected mobile networks, leading to a significant increase in desktop traffic percentage.
