The Chainlink Community Grant Program has awarded a grant to ChainSafe, a prominent blockchain protocol and infrastructure development firm, to integrate Chainlink into the Cosmos-SDK, enhancing the Cosmos ecosystem's ability to build interconnected decentralized applications. This integration will support smart contract development teams in the Cosmos ecosystem by enabling access to Chainlink's oracle networks, which provide reliable and tamper-proof external data. ChainSafe's task includes creating a Cosmos-SDK module that supports Chainlink oracle networks, ensuring compatibility with existing Chainlink Off-Chain Reporting Data Feeds, and facilitating interactions with other modules to reward data providers. The integration will expand the Cosmos ecosystem's capabilities, allowing for the development of DeFi, NFT, gaming, and insurance products by leveraging Chainlink's price feeds and secure data aggregation. ChainSafe has previously demonstrated expertise in blockchain software development and has worked with Chainlink on similar projects, such as expanding the Chainlink oracle pallet on Polkadot. The collaboration is expected to empower new use cases within the Cosmos network and support Chainlink’s mission to foster universally connected smart contracts through its community grants program.
