Over recent months, Chainlink Labs conducted a multi-city tour across Asia, visiting China, Korea, Japan, and Singapore to promote the adoption of connected smart contracts. The initiative aimed to expand and decentralize the Chainlink ecosystem by integrating projects, onboarding data providers like Binance and CoinGecko, and engaging with node operators and developers. In Singapore, they participated in the Invest: Asia 2019 conference to highlight the integration of smart contracts with off-chain resources and launched new Price Reference Data Oracle Networks on Ethereum. In China, they attended the Wanxiang Blockchain Conference and engaged with local developer communities through meetups and media interviews. Their visit to South Korea included presentations at the Korea Blockchain Week and the establishment of a new office with a community manager to foster local content and community growth. In Japan, at Devcon 5, they announced a collaboration on the Trusted Compute Framework with Intel and the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, and introduced new Price Reference Data Oracle Networks for various assets to enhance the DeFi ecosystem. This tour strengthened Chainlink's presence in Asia and laid the groundwork for global expansion by building a local infrastructure and engaging with enthusiastic developers and projects.
