The Canary Islands, particularly Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, are experiencing changes in mobility with an increase in pedestrianization, bike use, and micromobility options. This shift is driven by the need to reduce congestion and improve productivity in urban areas, while also addressing health concerns related to increasing emissions and road accidents. To address these challenges, the Sociedad Municipal de Aparcamientos de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (SAGULPA) has developed a mobility analysis platform that integrates multiple sources of data, including pedestrian foot traffic, bus usage, parking spaces, and bike rentals. The platform uses big data analytics to provide insights on commuter patterns, optimize transportation resources, and reduce congestion. By leveraging Open Data and collaborating with other organizations, SAGULPA aims to improve its services and be more efficient in its operations.
