Anthropic raises $124 million to build more reliable, general AI systems

Anthropic has raised $124 million in a Series A funding round led by Jaan Tallinn, technology investor and co-founder of Skype, to support the development of reliable and steerable AI systems. The company aims to make fundamental research advances that will enable the creation of more capable, general, and reliable AI systems, with a focus on increasing the safety of AI systems through research into reliability, interpretability, and human feedback integration. Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei stated that the company is thrilled to be working with supportive investors and plans to concentrate on research in the immediate term, with a goal to deploy these systems in ways that benefit people.
