The Postmark.Net client has been updated to version 2.0, with a range of improvements including complete API coverage, full async/await support, and complete XML documentation. The update aims to provide a more streamlined and efficient client library, with optional parameters reduced and Semantic Versioning adopted. Users are advised that some modifications may be required for projects targeting older versions of .Net, but the 1.6 client will continue to be available in the Nuget package feed.

DMARC, or Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance, is a security standard designed to prevent spam and phishing. Postmark, a company that specializes in email authentication, has developed a DMARC monitoring tool which processes over 100,000 reports for 524 domains since its launch in July. The service has processed a significant number of reports from Google, accounting for 34% of all reports received, indicating widespread use of Gmail and Google Apps for email. Analysis shows that only about 7.6% of emails are fully aligned with DMARC policies, while 47% are partially aligned, suggesting that many domains have implemented some level of email authentication but not yet achieved full alignment. Interestingly, 45% of untrusted messages may be legitimate emails that are not properly configured, highlighting the need for individual domain owners to investigate these cases. Overall, the monitoring tool has provided valuable insights into DMARC adoption and will continue to help support and encourage email authentication as Postmark moves forward with its goals.
