The Twilio + Heroku Developer Challenge has been won by Michael Ansel, who created two submissions for the competition. The first submission, DukeNow, is an application that allows users to find establishments on the Duke University campus that are open at the moment, simply by calling in. This application was built into the Duke iPhone application and added a "call-in" option for easy access. Michael also developed a set of libraries and tools to ease development of Twilio applications, including a TwiML response library with attribute and nesting rule validation, a TwiML parser, an Auth Signature verifier, a TwiML processor, and a web-based call simulator. The new category for this week is Twilio apps for Lead Generation, which will be explored in future posts.
