Upgraded access control: SAML support & easier role management
Blog post from Sanity
Sanity has introduced two new features aimed at enhancing security and simplifying user management within Sanity Studio: expanded support for single sign-on (SSO) through the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) standard for Business and Enterprise plans, and enhanced role management capabilities. The SAML integration allows for streamlined access control and compliance by enabling users to log in using widely used identity providers like Okta and Google. Meanwhile, the enhanced role management feature provides a revamped roles API and a management interface that allows users to easily assign and configure roles, including the ability to create custom roles and set granular permissions for content access, particularly for Enterprise customers. These updates are designed to facilitate better security, ease of administration, and a more seamless experience for large teams, with the added benefit for Enterprise customers of automatically assigning new users authenticated via SAML SSO to predefined custom roles.
