Incident Report: February 11, 2026
Blog post from Railway
Railway experienced a significant service outage due to a misconfigured automated abuse enforcement system, which incorrectly terminated legitimate user deployments, impacting around 3% of their fleet. This issue arose after a new anti-fraud ruleset delivered a false positive for legitimate workloads, resulting in unexpected SIGTERM signals and service disruptions, including databases like Postgres and MySQL going offline. The incident began on February 11, 2026, and was quickly addressed by the platform team, who worked to restore access for affected customers. The outage caused networking errors, inaccurate service statuses, and slower deployment times due to increased redeployment activity. In response, Railway plans to enhance its review and rollout processes for fraud model changes, extend testing windows, and implement additional safeguards to prevent future occurrences of such false positives.
