ngrok's always-on Global Server Load Balancer (GSLB) is a hosted service that automatically routes end user traffic and agent traffic to the nearest Point of Presence (PoP) based on latency, enhancing resiliency by steering traffic from an unavailable PoP to one that is operational. This feature simplifies application and API delivery and shields origin servers from unwanted traffic, eliminating operational overhead for IT. The GSLB boosts application performance by intelligently routing traffic to the PoP with the lowest latency, terminating TLS at ngrok edges closest to end users, offloading non-core functions, leveraging higher capacity backbone links, and providing geo-aware load balancing and failover capability for both end user and agent traffic. The GSLB is designed to serve production workloads, eliminating operational burden, providing zero configuration, origin server protection, reducing complexity of application delivery, and offering instant availability of new locations.
