This feature speeds up dev/test flows and unlocks new production use cases, including running the first production app on ngrok's free tier suitable for pre-release versions or internal apps, which can be upgraded later to a custom domain when ready to put it in front of customers. To claim a static domain, users log in to their ngrok account, navigate to Cloud Edge > Domains, and follow prompts to claim their unique domain. With a static domain, users can use ngrok not just in test/dev environments but also for production use-cases, as demonstrated by examples using the ngrok CLI, Agent SDKs, and Kubernetes Ingress Controller.
