New Relic Extends Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Capabilities
Blog post from New Relic
New Relic has expanded its role-based access control (RBAC) capabilities by introducing custom and managed add-on roles, providing a more granular access-control system that allows organizations to assign precise permissions to team members based on their specific roles and responsibilities. The managed add-on roles, maintained by New Relic, automatically update with new product functionalities, granting admin capabilities for individual New Relic products while restricting access to others. Additionally, custom add-on roles enable organizations to tailor access levels for specific features within each product, further refining user permissions. These new RBAC features are designed to help organizations ensure that team members have the necessary access to perform their duties without compromising security. New Relic's updated user interface includes a capabilities preview to help administrators easily visualize the permissions granted with selected roles. Both custom and managed add-on roles are now available to all New Relic customers, offering a chance to enhance security measures by refining user access privileges.
