Empowering Employees to Make a Difference: Insights from Our Global Impact Challenge
Blog post from New Relic
The fourth annual Global Impact Challenge demonstrated the significant influence of aligning employee purpose with community impact, engaging over 50% of the global workforce and raising nearly $70,000 for various causes. The initiative combined volunteering and financial contributions, allowing employees to participate through local or company-sponsored projects and donate to chosen causes, facilitated by Giving Rewards. This approach led to involvement in over 60 volunteer projects across eight countries, addressing diverse community needs. Highlights included activities such as repurposing technology with Free Geek in Portland, preparing meals for food-insecure families in North Texas, and creating educational kits with Youth for Seva in India. The success of the challenge emphasized the value of integrating community impact into corporate culture, fostering a shared sense of purpose and enhancing team cohesion, with positive effects extending to local communities through meaningful volunteer work and donations.
