Summary

We iterated fast and proved initial traction for Nango without building the actual product by focusing on positioning. A minimum viable positioning is needed to gather market signals, which involves resonating with customers, timing, and product features. We realized that copying what works for others wasn't the right approach, but rather understanding our deep insight into the integrations market and finding a unique solution. By building from this insight, we gained initial traction with a simple landing page and Readme on GitHub, which led to people joining our Slack community and starring our repo. Our learning is that don't give up and focus on positioning, use fill-out forms builders to gather interest, and iterate accordingly when you find a resonant positioning.
